Giraffe just Fishin’

When we moved the store warehouse we found stock that had not seen the light of day for decades. As we go through the boxes, we will post the items on the website.
This giraffe has little legs that dangle. His legs are jointed at the hip and knee.  He takes his fishing very seriously!

The Giraffe represents being insightful and perceptive. The feature that is most obvious on the giraffe is the long, gorgeous neck which reminds us to stretch ourselves beyond our comfort zone to reach out further than we thought we could. The giraffe can see what’s behind, around & in front of it, offering a different perceptive & grounded view of the world. Giraffes can survive on less water than a camel, and they sleep for only a few hours per day. The giraffe totem means you can make do with less resources than others and you can create anything you need from what you have.  You think outside the normal rules of convention because you see the resources right here, right now.  You can get more done in a few hours than most people manage in an entire day.  Giraffes find the journey just as exciting and productive as achieving their goals and the destination.

Giraffe Hook

This giraffe was meant to hang on a wall and be a hook.  I think it would look fun hanging out on any bookshelf as well.

There is something magical about this little guy.  He represents whimsy to me.  He would be a wonderful addition to any giraffe collection or in a child’s room where the giraffe is sitting on the edge of the shelf fishing.

Dolphin Ironwood Sculpture

When we moved the store warehouse we found stock that had not seen the light of day for decades. As we go through the boxes, we will post the items on the website.

The Dolphin is associated with duality. Being a fish and mammal (of the water…breathing air.) It is of both worlds.  This yin and yang ability makes the dolphin the “King of Fish,” to many ancient cultures.  Dolphins are known for their playfulness, gentleness, intelligence and ability to work together in a group. Christian symbolism conveys the dolphin as an aspect of Christ. Dolphins seen in Christian art are symbolic of resurrection. Some artists utilize the protective, stabilizing, compassionate demeanor of the dolphin as a message of well-being to the pure of heart. Some artistic renditions speak of dolphins transporting the spirits of the faithful to Christ’s side upon leaving their physical bodies

Feather for Smudging – Black

Ancient Americans used feathers to send prayers to the heavens and draw healing power from the sky. This practice is known as smudging. It is the use of smoke from resins, herbs or incense to cleanse & purify a space, object, or person.  The best way is to use a feather to push the smoke around where you want it to go. You may direct the smoke over and around a person, an object to be blessed or into the corners of a room. When smudging, the underside of the feather is used to float the smoke in the direction you want it to take.  Use a downward motion and then across.  The underside of the feather is the side that faces Mother earth, the top of the feather faces Father Sky. Everything is connected.  You can embellish the feather with a handle or add crystals or beads if you feel called to.
